On Tuesday 4th February 2014 Paige, Alex, Sonia and Matthew in year 10 placed 5th in the Further Mathematics Support Programme regional mathematics quiz at the University of Wolverhampton. They worked hard as a team to compete with the best schools in Wolverhampton and the surrounding area, coming 2nd out of the non-selective schools present on the day.
They encountered mathematics outside the GCSE syllabus and managed to solve difficult problems by combining their different skills and using logic. Unfortunately only the top three placing schools go through to the next round and so unfortunately we have not made it through to the county finals this year.
This was a fantastic effort that really showed the Moreton spirit, where students have represented the school and stood out from the crowd for all the right reasons. They were great ambassadors for the school and should be proud of their efforts.
Thank you again to the participants.
