Dear Parents and Carers,
I am writing to clarify our expectations for uniform and equipment for the coming academic year. At Moreton School we like to demonstrate our pride in belonging to our community. A visible indication of this is in the high standard of students’ uniform. We appreciate that purchasing school uniform is not the only significant cost families will face throughout the academic year; in order help parents budget the cost, our uniform provider (Trutex) offers parents a saving scheme whereby they can visit the store and make payments towards the cost of the school uniform ready for the next school year. The store can be found at 14a Cleveland Street, Wolverhampton or alternatively orders can be placed online.
Please use the table below to help you when purchasing new uniform as any students who are wearing incorrect uniform in September may be sent home or placed in the LIC. In order to prevent this, we would very much appreciate your support in ensuring that your child is sent to school correctly dressed and equipped. Teacher time spent challenging uniform distracts from our principal purpose of teaching and learning. The details for the school uniform for September are set out below and can also be found on the school website. In particular, I would like to point out our expectations for September regarding shoes. Over the past year we have increasingly seen students beginning to wear trainer style shoes, soft and suede topped shoes, VANS, canvas pumps etc. These are not appropriate for school and from September all students must be in appropriate footwear as detailed below. Please ensure that these are correctly adhered to.
We will continue to maintain a store of spare items in school to enable students and families who are having difficulties in order to maintain high standards whilst they rectify the situation. Should this be the case, please provide your child with a note explaining the situation and an indication of when the issue will be rectified (e.g. sole fallen off shoes, buying new ones tonight). Heads of Year greet students each morning on the front door and will contact home should concerns arise.
We regret to inform you that due to financial constraints from September 2017 Moreton School will be unable to offer a ‘Discounted School Meals Scheme’ for parents who are in receipt of Working Tax Credit-with annual income less than £16190. The catering team have been working extremely hard during the Summer term together with the school council to create a nutritious and value for money menu to support parents with the school meal cost and ensure the health and well-being of our students. When the new menu is embedded we will be asking parents and students to provide feedback.
Further details are available on our website to support families in purchasing suitable items. We really appreciate your support. If you have any queries, please contact your child’s Head of Year.
Thank you for your help and we ask for your support in our continued drive for consistency.
