Moreton Year 9 food students attended an exciting opportunity at UCB College of Food this week. Students gained a first-hand experience of the culinary skills that the current UCB students had to offer, with a work shop from chef Matthew Shropshire who is the current junior England Team manager. Not only that, but Moreton School took part in International Chefs day and were the only school in the country to take part in this fantastic event.
Students were amazed to see the range of equipment that UCB had on offer and were taken aback by the Michelin two starred restaurant which is currently staffed by UCB catering students. A highlight of this was a guest appearance by former Moreton student Semei Rowe. Students had workshops within the bar, bakery and industrial kitchens whilst creating a whole range of products. This opportunity has inspired the students and Mr Ruthven was extremely proud of the students hands on approach to the day. Well Done to all the students involved and please keep an eye out for all the pictures of the day.
