Dear Parents and Carers,
I am writing to clarify our expectations for uniform standards. At Moreton School we demonstrate our pride in belonging to our community. A visible indication of this is in the high standard of our students’ uniform. We appreciate that purchasing school uniform is not the only significant cost families will face throughout the academic year; in order help parents budget the cost, our uniform provider Trutex offers parents a saving scheme whereby they can visit the store and make payments towards the cost of the school uniform ready for the next school year. The store can be found at 14a Cleveland Street, Wolverhampton WV1 3HT or alternatively orders can be placed online for home delivery (See leaflet attached.)
Please use the table overleaf to help you when purchasing new uniform as any students who are wearing incorrect uniform will face sanctions. In order to prevent this, we would very much appreciate your support in ensuring that your child is sent to school correctly dressed and equipped. Time spent challenging uniform distracts from our principal purpose of teaching and learning. Over the past few weeks, we have increasingly seen students beginning to wear trainer style shoes, soft and suede topped shoes, VANS, canvas pumps, boots etc. These are not appropriate for school; all students must be in appropriate footwear as detailed below. Please ensure that these standards are adhered to.
We will continue to hold a store of spare items in school to enable students and families who are having difficulties in order to maintain high standards whilst they rectify the situation. Should this be the case, please provide your child with a note explaining the situation and an indication of when the issue will be rectified (e.g. sole fallen off shoes, buying new ones tonight). Heads of Year greet students each morning on the front door and will contact home should concerns arise.
As of Monday 2nd July, any student arriving at school wearing the incorrect uniform will be placed in isolation until the issue is corrected. Further details are available on our website to support families in purchasing suitable items. If you are having difficulties in providing correct uniform, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s Head of Year using the details below. We appreciate that uniform items can be costly to replace when lost, damaged or outgrown and will we do our best to assist you.
