As a Parent/Carer of a student at Moreton School, you will know that ensuring the very best education for your child to enable them to have the very best life chances, is our absolute priority. Therefore, I am pleased to inform you that Moreton School has now become a reading school. We believe that reading cannot only help your child reach their full potential in school but research shows that people who read also have improved chances beyond school.
As always, the support that you give your child is second to none so once again, we would like to thank you in advance for the support you will continue to give. As of Monday 17th September, we would like every student at Moreton to bring a book with them to school because reading time will be encouraged as part of our curriculum.
There are various places that you can obtain a book for your child:
- The school library
- Your local library
- Central Library in Wolverhampton City Centre
- There is a pop-up second hand book shop in the Wulfrun Shopping Centre
- Every Monday lunch-time there will be a ‘Swap Shop’ in the school library where students can swap books with each other
To achieve academic success, reading is a crucial. Which is why encouraging reading at home, as well as school is so important. Over the coming weeks and months, I will write to you again to inform you of the other ways that you can get involved.
