We have a dedicated and passionate team of maths teachers who aim to build and develop your child’s confidence in mathematical and problem solving skills. Working closely with local primary schools we aim to make the transition into secondary school maths as smooth as possible for our students. We then work tirelessly to make sure every student makes progress. Through various forms of assessment, we ensure that students are on the right path to achieving the best possible grade they can.
Problem solving is a big part of the National Curriculum and is something we aim to improve in the department by offering competitions to all students across the school. Students have maths every day to ensure we have ample time to deliver the syllabus in enough detail required.
The department is committed to increasing the success of our students, improving resilience and motivation to give the students the confidence to face any mathematical challenge. The department offers an ‘open door’ and ‘out of hours’ attitude and regularly help students during breakfast clubs and after school.
